Who is this Vira person anyway?

Vira is short for Veronica. I was given this name my freshman year of high school as payback from a kid I called Harry Potter. He didn’t expect me to like the name because Vera is an “old lady” name he stole from his grandmother. Unfortunately for him, I knew that Vera means “true;” I changed the ‘e’ to an ‘i’ so–at least to me–it means “I am True.” Only later did I discover that my spelling of the word is not so original, and I became a fan of the Neopets evil character Vira.

Why V-for-Veronica?

When I was trying to come up with a name for my personal blog, I was also debating if I should keep using my nickname or go with Veronica–trying to be more “grown-up.” In a compromise, I picked Veronica, but gave it a childish twist. Think of letter blocks and those alphabet posters. It’s all silly, really because I still go by Vira anyways. I’ll probably change my domain again anyway… like usual.
